Yet Another NewsWatcher is free. It may not be sold for profit or included with software or other products which are sold for profit without the permission of both Northwestern University and Brian Clark. If you redistribute the program, you must not modify the program or documentation in any way without the permission of Brian Clark, and you must distribute the complete Yet Another NewsWatcher archive containing the application, tables and plugins, scripts, and documentation.
Yet Another NewsWatcher was developed by Brian Clark based on the original NewsWatcher application by John Norstad. If you encounter problems, PLEASE read the NewsWatcher manual and the Yet Another NewsWatcher documents to see if the matter is discussed there. It is also an excellent idea to see what problems or solutions are being discussed in the newsgroups comp.sys.mac.apps and comp.sys.mac.comm.
There is no home ftp site or web page for Yet Another NewsWatcher. The anonymous FTP site for the original NewsWatcher program, the user document, and the CodeWarrior C source code is:

Yet Another NewsWatcher requires at least 1700 kB of free RAM, a PowerPC processor, and System 8.5 or later. Like original NewsWatcher, it also requires a Macintosh with a hard drive. The Mac must be connected to the Internet, and Open Transport must be properly installed and configured.
Yet Another NewsWatcher has been awarded the “Good Net-Keeping Seal of Approval.” For details on the Seal, see:

For dialup use, Yet Another NewsWatcher works with the various SLIP and PPP programs, and with ARA together with an appropriately configured AppleTalk/IP gateway. It is strictly an online newsreader, and it does not support any other kind of dialup connection. The program requires an active full TCP/IP connection to the Internet. It does not support offline newsreading, and it does not support older kinds of dialup connections designed primarily for simple terminal emulation. We have no plans to add these features. If you need an offline newsreader or a newsreader which works with older kinds of dialup connections, you must use some other program.
